MY FITNESS JOURNEY
Love Every Cell of Your Body
Be kind to your body and treat it like your best friend. You will
live in this body for the rest of your life. Love every cell of it.

Fitness has been a part of my life for many years. Growing up on Prince Edward Island, I participated in softball, figure skating, gymnastics, and basketball. As an adult, I enjoyed attending boot camp and kickboxing classes. However, when I became a mom over 6 years ago, I faced some real challenges in my life with my physical and mental health. At that time, I feel that my true fitness journey began. While on maternity leave, the company that I was working for lost their contract, so I didn’t have a job to go back to. I was out of shape, had extreme knee pain that kept me from running, and I was suffering from anxiety and very bad insomnia. I felt horrible. I needed to get mental and physical strength back.

At that time, thankfully . . . an inspiring and empathic personal trainer, CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), healthy eating, a great sleep psychiatrist, and a daily meditation practice. For me, this body, mind, spirit approach became the ultimate in self-care. Everything changed. My mind and my body became stronger. I felt like a new person. At that time, I decided to back to school and I obtained my Personal Training Certification. Fitness was truly the medicine that helped me to heal my 20- year struggle with anxiety. Through this experience, I found my true passion: helping others to improve their quality of life and live a happier and healthier life through physical exercise. I would love to help you to get in the best shape of your life, the strongest you’ve ever been physically and mentally.

Yours in Good Health,

Shelley
